"I am not gone. My soul lives on, but in a better place surrounded by the Light of God in all His Glory and Grace..."
We, the staff and management of Charles Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations, mourn with the Sprueill family in the death of Mr. George Ernest Sprueill, Jr., age 53, of Winterville, NC who departed this life on Tuesday, January 01, 2019, in the comfort of his home.
George was born on July 6,1965 in Danbury, Connecticut. He attended school at Hayestown Elementary, Rogers Park Middle School, and Danbury High School before moving to North Carolina in 1981. He then attended school in the Pitt County School district and graduated from D.H. Conley High School in 1984.
George was very good with his hands and a very skilled worker. He worked various factory jobs, but working on cars was his passion. He enjoyed doing minor mechanic tasks, installing car stereos, doing automobile bodywork, and tinting car windows. Anything dealing with cars, he was your go to guy, until his health began to fail him in 1992.
George was well know and made friends easily. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, he loved to talk. He will be missed by many.
George was preceded in death by his father, George Ernest Sprueill, Sr.
George leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Nettie Sprueill of Winterville NC; his estranged wife, Wendy Sprueill of Greenville, NC; his son, Von'Jorge Sprueill of Winterville, NC; his daughter, Shericka Jordan (Tim) of Greenville, NC; a special friend, Faith Fields of Lillington, NC; two half sister, Angelina Jefferson of New Jersey, Crystal Locke of Danbury, CT; two half brother, Joseph White of Connecticut, and Clifford Locke of Danbury, CT; two grandchildren, Ny'Kria Best and T'Maris Jordan of Greenville, NC; childhood best friend, John Murray of Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
