We, the staff and management of Charles Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations, mourn with the Cobb family in the death of Mr. Ricky Darnell Cobb, age 56, of 657 Falconwood Dr. Grimesland NC, who transitioned Monday, May 14, 2018 in the comfort of his home.
Ricky Darnell Cobb was born to Nero B. Cobb and Reatha Dickens Cobb July 29, 1961 in Washington, North Carolina. God called Ricky to depart this life May 14, 2018. He was raised in a Christian home and joined Triumph Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.He had his educational training at Pactolus Elementary School, and graduated from North Pitt High School in 1983.
He was employed with Flanders Filters and later at Yale/Natco as a carpenter. Ricky had the ability to do many things. He worked in carpentry, plumbing and landscaping until his health began to fail him. Ricky was also an avid griller and master fisherman. Ricky had his way about him, but he had a big heart. He always went that extra mile to help someone.
He was united in matrimony to Wanda Bonner Cobb July 1992. He later joined his wife as a member of Redemption Tabernacle under the leadership of Bishop C. E. Tetterton, until his death.
Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Louise Stewart, and three brothers, Linwood Cobb, Joseph Cobb, and Danny Cobb.
He leaves to cherish in his memory, two daughters Shameka Blow Guion (Anthony) of Raleigh, N.C., Sheana Bonner of Greensboro, N.C., a special grandson, Master Jayden Harris of Raleigh, N.C., three brothers, Nero Cobb, Jr. (Carolyn), David Cobb, Sr. (Margie), both of Washington, N.C., and Gregory Cobb (Lola) of Hugo, N.C., five sisters, Mary C. Roberson of Colorado Springs, CO., Willa Carnegay of Philadelphia, PA, Retha C. Sanders of Washington, N.C., Mamie Cobb of Greenville, N.C. and Glory C. Jones (James) of Chocowinity, N.C., two aunts, Martha Little of Washington, N.C., and LindoraWilkins of Philadelphia, PA, one uncle, Pastor Ernest Dickens, Jr. of Camden, N.J., his mother-in-law, Pearlie Mae Chesson of Roper, N.C., sisters-in-laws, Darlene Spruill, Denise Blount, and Dolly Spencer, two brothers-in-laws, Rodney Burnett and Tony Spruill, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and all who had a special place in his heart.
Also he leaves his three special friends, Max, China and Shadow.
The family will be receiving friends at the residence of Mrs. Mamie Cobb, 465 Jackrabbit Run, Greenville NC and will assemble there at 10 am Saturday in preparation for the funeral service.
