We, the staff and management of Charles Edwards Funeral Home mourn with The Blount Family in the loss of their loved one, Mr. Carlton Lyle Blount, 66, of Farmville NC who passed on Friday June 26, 2020 at his residence.
Carlton was born on August 3, 1953 to the late George Carver and Queen Esther Beamon Blount in Farmville NC. He quietly passed on Friday June 26, 2020 in the presence of his family. He graduated from HB Sugg High School in in 1971 and attended Norfolk State University. In his younger years he worked at A.C. Monk and Collins and Aikman. Later on he moved to New York. While in New York, Carlton was known as "Bow Dean", "Bow", or "Cot La Rock". Carlton was an entrepreneur and he knew how to make money. He enjoyed life, loved his family and we loved him.
Carlton was preceded in death by; his parents, brothers; James M. Blount and Calvin J. Blount. Sisters; Faye L. Blount and Stephanie L. Blount Fields.
Carlton is survived by: Special daughter; Shannon Joyner of Greenville NC. Extra Special niece; Valerie Faye Fields Rodgers (John) of Farmville NC. One sister; Valerie Blount- Joyner of Farmville NC. Three Brothers; George C. Blount, Jr. (Keren) of Bronx NY, Maurice A. Blount (Karla) of Brooklyn NY, and Phillip G. Blount of Farmville NC. Brother in law; William C. Fields of Raleigh NC, Sister in laws; Josephine Blount and Doris Lane both of Greenville NC. One aunt; Rosa Beamon of Washington NC, and a special friend; Jacqueline Vicks of Bronx NY, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday July 1, 2020 at 11:00am in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Farmville NC. The family respectfully requests that this service be limited to FAMILY ONLY
Public Visitation will be 3-7pm Tuesday June 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Charles Edwards Funeral Home
