Mr. Isaiah Moore known to many as “Stump” was born December 2, 1947 in Craven County, to the late Isaiah Moore and Vera Smith Moore. He departed this earthly life peacefully at home on August 8, 2019
Isaiah was raised in Craven County where he attended the area schools. He later moved to Pitt County and had a great love for driving trucks. He drove trucks for Worthington Farms and Pitt County Transportation in Farmville, NC for many years. Through faith and determination, he started his own trucking business, Moore Boys Trucking.
Isaiah was introduced to the Lord at an early age. He had a great love for music and singing. Early in life, he traveled and sung occasionally with his brother’s gospel group, The Golden Doves. In 2006, he became a member of the ministry at Cherry lane FWB Church. He was later ordained as a deacon at Cherry Lane FWB Church on May 22, 2011.
Isaiah was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah and Vera Moore, his son, Donnell Moore and two brothers, Howard Lee Moore and Hubert Lee Moore.
Isaiah leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted wife whom he loved dearly, Daisy Moore of the home; Two daughters, Eldress Stacey Gardner of Greenville, NC and Angel Wesley (Tryonta) of Pensacola, FL; Six sons, Christopher Moore (Victoria), Greg Nichols and Antonio Moore (Keisha) all of Greenville, NC, Donald Chapman of Raleigh, NC, Ritchie Wesley of New Bern, NC and Terrance Kornegay (Mahogany) of Warsaw, NC; four step-children, Robert Johnson and Dwayne Johnson both of Long Island, NY, Michelle Johnson of the home, and Fred Johnson of Ayden, NC; One brother, Junior Earl Moore (Mabel) of Ayden, NC; four sisters-in-law, Rosa Moore of Winterville, NC, Annie Calloway, Flora Brown and Mattie Johnson all of New York; 20 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, a very special son, Kobe Moore and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration will take place on Saturday August 17, 2019 at 12noon at Haddock’s United American Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Julius Phillips of Cherry Lane United American FWB Church, Officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Church Cemetery near Grifton.
