We, the staff and management of Charles Edwards Funeral Home mourn with the The Locust & Powell Family in the death of their loved one, Pastor Johnnie G. Locust of 2294 Slate Lane, Greenville NC who transitioned on Tuesday April 21, 2020. He was born on January 28,1956 in Pitt Co, N.C. to the late Eugene Locust and Louise Moore Locust.
He attented Pitt County Schools and was a Self Employed Tax Preparer.
He was the Pastor of Church of God of Israel Church and a member of Gospel Unlimited Ministry Inc. of Fountain, N.C.
Pastor Locust is survived by his wife Shirley Powell Locust of the home. Two sisters, Barbara Godley of Grifton, N.C. and Mary Harris of Ayden, N.C. and other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Celebration with Graveside Services will be held Wednesday April 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Homestead Memorial Gardens, Greenville, N.C. with Bishop Gracie Tyson Officiating. A walk through Viewing will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2020 from 2-7pm at Charles Edwards Funeral Home, Ayden.
