We, the staff and management of Charles Edwards Funeral Home mourn with the Carmon Family in the loss of their loved one, Mrs. Pennie Lee Bullock Carmon of Snow Hill NC who transitioned on Friday May 1, 2020 at her residence.
Pennie Lee Bullock Carmon was born on February 19, 1926 in Greene County to the late Connie and Clara Belcher Bullock.
Pennie departed this life on Friday morning, May 1, 2020. "God knew you were tired and had faced so many struggles." For a decade and a half, she was missing the love of her heart, so God granted her, her heart's desire. God saw that she was tired and was ready to enter into her eternal home, without a fight. Pennie answered her Father's call and received her Heavenly Reward.
Pennie attended Greene County Public Schools. She was a member of Patrick Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board for many years. Later on, she was ordained as a Mother, of the church, until her health began to fail. In her early years, she was a member of The Household of Ruth Organization and Albritton Community Club. Pennie was united in Holy Matrimony to Joseph Clarence Carmon, for sixty years and to this union, ten children were born. She worked many years as a housekeeper and worked on the farm. She was later employed at a vegetable processing plant in Wilson, NC and, AC Monk Tobacco processing plant in Farmville, NC, for many years, until her she retired due to health reasons. She was a quiet person with a big smile, but when she had something to say she would definitely speak up. She was one who would help you in any way that she could. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. To her children and grandchildren she was known as "Suk" and "Pensie."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clarence Carmon (Joe Cool) in 2004; three sons: Clarence Carmon, Jr.(Bay) in 1992, William Earl Carmon(Oral) in 1976, and Orange Ray Carmon in 2018; and granddaughter, Tammy LaShone Carmon in 2001.
Pennie leaves a legacy of love to three sons: Ben Franklin Carmon (Beverly) of Snow Hill, NC, Zeebedee Carmon (Yvette) of Avon , Indiana, and Robert Lee Carmon (LaVern) of Washington, DC; Four daughters: Clara Carmon Mumford (Clifton), Terry Hall (Eddie), Peggy Carmon Edwards, and Alice Carmon Barfield all of Snow Hill, NC; A special grandson, Sylvester Carmon , who waited patiently on his grandmother; One daughter in law, Irene Carmon of Walstonburg, NC; 28 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 12 great, great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
